Fabulous Fall Fun in Florida?
I woke up to a cool crispness in the air this morning. Fall is finally here and I'm not talking fall in Vermont! I'm talking fall in southwest Florida. I just love being outdoors this time of year, taking our grandchildren to the parks, riding bikes, taking walks on the beach. But what I like most are the wonderful fall festivals. I love the pumpkin patches, hayrides, child friendly haunted houses, and the wonderful aroma of the food vendors. For vacationers in Florida, here are a few of Sarasota's fall festivals.
Hunsader Pumpkin Festival takes place on the last three weekends of October in Bradenton, a town in greater Sarasota. Admission price includes craft show, live shows, musical entertainment, hayrides, pumpkin cannon viewing, chainsaw sculpting, playground, petting zoo and pioneer trades village. There are also all sorts of food and drink stands also. One of the best features is that children under age twelve get in free. In addition, entertainment for a small fee includes face painting, rock climbing wall, power jump children's train ride, Bi-plane rides, and a frog jumping championship.
Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest is in Sarasota on the same weekends in October as the Hunsader Festival. Some features include Crafters, Pony Rides, Food & Fun Indian Corn, Pumpkin Painting, Face Painting, Hay Bales, Music, 40-foot Slip N Slide, Cornstalks, Mini-Train Rides, Petting Zoo, Free Torres Family Circus. This is a great Place to get Fall Pictures made of the family! Admission is free.
The Sarasota Fairgrounds Pumpkin Festival is scheduled for October 28th through the 30th from 12:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. Sarasota comes together to enjoy a Festival that's designed for families of all ages. Often we see events that just don't have something for everyone; well, you're in for a treat this year, with all-new entertainment, big shows and carving fun. The hometown feel is what you can expect at the 3rd Annual Sarasota Pumpkin Festival, Sarasota's Very Own Halloween Festival, "the most Family Friendly Festival of all time!"This is a festival designed for children, teens and adults that benefits All Children's Hospital. It returns to the Sarasota County Fairgrounds for the third year and is ready to bring back a Family Fun Halloween Extravaganza.
Often we see events that just don't have something for everyone; well you're in for a treat! Hay Rides, A Pumpkin Patch and Maze, Pie Eating Contests, The Flying Pages Trapeze Shows, Train Rides, Food and Craft Vendors, Interactive Amusement Rides in the Kids Zone and Daily Horse Shows are just some of the activities you can look forward to. The Pumpkin Tower and Not-So-Scary Haunted House along with Safe Trick-or-Treating for the Children will add to the festive atmosphere.
